Try a branch of the Church of Later Day Saints. They have microfilms of most British records that are available. Perhaps your local library has access to the same information.

I have been researching using Ancestry, for Sussex area in England.  I find the records which are registered,  but to get at the details of that record, Ancestry forwards you to a research company, who charges upwards of $30 for one detailed record, which may or may not be the correct individual.  Records I'm looking for are mid to late
1800's,  early 1900's.

Is there another way to get at the detail information from England without paying out many dollars for something that may not be correct.

thanks for any suggestions/help

Sherry
