Hi Jon,

is it possible that one of his daughters married "Brooks"?

Dear listers,

May I please thank every single one of you who replied on and off list to my query, what a fantastic response! Thank you all so very very much!

My friend says he has no idea of who the informant George was, but further research may or may not reveal his identity. He was initially shocked to find John in Canada, as in the 1911 census, 2 years before his wife died, he was in Bristol, England. Further research needs to be done, but we're assuming that there must have been family there for him to have travelled to canada in his mid to late 70's so soon after his wife's death in 1913. So far we still haven't found him on passenger lists, so don't know exactly how soon after her death he travelled.

We're still astounded by the wonderful response of this list!

kindest regards to all,

Jon Nixey (and Neil Milkins)
