Hi Janice,
Look at the "Catalogue of Census Returns on Microfilm 1666-1901"
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/census-microfilm-1666-190
1/index-e.html

If you are just looking for 1871, you can look also at an Excel
spreadsheet which is called "Census Districts and Sub-districts" that
will tell you which of the 9 schedules to it are missing. A link to it
is found on the Search help page from the main 1871 Census page.
