Subject: [ONTARIO] finding crown land grants
Date: Fri, 23 Apr 2010 15:50:16 EDT

It has been a while since I posted before and we have let the frustration
subside before asking again. We need help. We will even pay if someone
knows how and where to look. We have no clue what to do.

We know as fact that John Roe had a Crown Land Grant for Lots 27 and 28
Concession 8 in Alice township in Renfrew County (next to Pembroke) and was
on the land and taxed in 1858. We have already seen the land books and know
that John proved the land and received a Patent for one lot in 1873 and
the other in 1874. I can send anyone who can help a file with the actual page
copied.

We know as fact that John was on the 1861 census for Alice on this land.
He owned this land until 1906.

We have tried looking on the archives site for CLG. We have tried what is
available in books and on line.

What do we do next? We live on the west coast and can't go to the
libraries in Ontario and apparently our leaning curve can't figure out what to do.
HELP!
