Hi:
The books you refer to are called "Canada Company Remittance Books". Copy
and paste that, in quotation marks, into www.google.ca and you'll get lots
of hits.
They run from 1843 to 1847 and record moneys sent overseas from someone in
Canada, or sent to someone in Canada, if they used the Canada Company to
send/receive funds.
If you don't find any sites that have the books online, I have them so if
you want a look-up, just ask.
