Hi David,
Obituaries do not always / I would assume very seldom - include cause of death.
Perhaps - contact the Funeral Home in charge of arrangements - they
may be able to refer you to a source of information.
Registration of Death - from Govt of Ontario- Vital Statistics Dept -
will show cause of death. It may be in a page separate from the
Registration. or included in same.
Perhaps if you know the name of the Physician that attended . You may
be able to obtain some information - though there may be concerns
about privacy etc.

Have you contacted the Cemetery - there is an e mail address
http://www.littlelakecemetery.com/contact.htm
They will be able to tell you if your brother is buried there - the
date of Burial / Death etc - or if there had been a cremation.

The newspaper for the area where your brother lived - where there
were family/friends - may offer a search for the obituary - there
will probably be a fee.

The Public Library - for the area - may hold newspapers in their
collection. - May offer a search for Obituary. *many will not charge
a fee for a simple search

There may be Volunteers at Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness - Ontario
Some may offer search for Obituary
