Hi Jackie. Willard was my father. I have his Military file. Harry was his
older brother and I have now ordered Harry's military file on line.
Hopefully it will tell me his civic address at the time of his enlistment.
I have scoured Nova Scotia once more for 1901 census for Harry. I know I
found it once before and if I remember correctly either the surname or given
name was wrong, but I can't find it now. I think it was in Cape Breton at
Sydney Village or Sydney Mines. He was working at the mines as an
electrician, but darned if I can find him now. I have been on the computer
all morning and cannot find Harry in 1911 either.
My Dad was 10 when his father died and he was left with the wicked
stepmother. The boys all left home and scattered. Dad and Harry lost touch
until the 1940's when Harry found my Dad and came to visit. Dad ran away to
Pictou, Nova Scotia at age 10 or 11 and was taken in by the Smith family.
Bev.
