In my Gorrie & Fordwich upbringing, I had always heard the name of the sect
as TUNKARDS and sometimes DUNKARDS which may have had to do with their
baptizing practices. I think they were also known as Brethren in Christ.
A google search of either term brings up a lot of references, so both seem
legitimate.

my family were the Bakers and they were known as Tunkers , which means (
bretheren in Christ ) they were farmers in the Markham area.
some came from Pennsylvania
