Hi Doug:

Perhaps you could ask the dealer if they can give you referrals to
others in your area who have purchased that model, to see what their
experience with it has been, as well as whether or not they've gotten
good service from the dealer.

You would think that a good, reputable dealer would be more than happy
to refer you to his satisfied clients, or if they are concerned about
the client's privacy, perhaps you could authorize the dealer to give
your contact info to their current client and have him/her get back to you.

You might also want to check with the LDS family history centres in your
area to see if they like the model they are using, or if they have any
recommendations.

Our local college was getting rid of all their film readers as they
didn't feel they needed them anymore, I'm in Alberta, because so much
was on the web, so you might want to check with libraries and colleges
close to you as perhaps one of them might have some to get rid of, at a
reasonable price.

Sorry, that's all I can think of.

Marg
