I think your idea is excellent.
I have ancestors that came to the U.S. in the 1600's, and to Canada, both UEL, and Patriot in the late 1700's and early 1800's. I was born in the U.S. with a Canadian father, and grew up in Canada. I still have relatives on both sides of the border. In fact my major brick wall, is in the U.S. - my mother's people.
I think this list you are proposing, would be a big help to a lot of people.
