Bill,
No, I don't have their marriage certificate, but I do have a fairly
comprehensive entry from Landmarks of Toronto. The minister was Rev. John
Barclay.
Would additional information be available on the original certificate (the
transcript gives no information about his regiment or occupation)?
Is there a possibility a copy of the original might be with either the
United Church, or the Presbyterian Church Archives. I believe Joseph and
Isabella belonged to St. Andrew's Presbyterian (the current church building
is just east of Roy Thomson Hall). As you suggest, is it also possible a
copy might be with the Anglican Church Archives?
I've just done a Google search and found a reference to Rev. John Barclay at
http://www.accessgenealogy.com/scripts/data/database.cgi?file=Data&report=Si
ngleArticle&ArticleID=0032960.
Thanks,
--Doug

Doug,
Do you have their marriage certificate? Those serving in the army
back then had their marriage (if in Canada) registered at the nearest
Anglican church. I found one of mine in Fredericton, NB in 1816.
