Hello Pat

Yes there was an 1891 census. It is available, as are all
other years, on microfilm.

Your best bet is to visit http://allcensusrecords.com/ to
learn what years the census was taken (there are earlier
years than 1851), what substitutes are available (tax
assessments, etc) and where you can find the records.
