If you use this link, you will find the Canadian Genealogy Centre and its
page on the Canadian Expeditionary Force of the First World War.

There you will find out that you can search the database for the ATTESTATION
PAPERS of your veteran, and also find out how to order the rest of his
personnel file.

Hello Ellen, I'm not sure but when I was looking for the files on my Mother
I went threw the veterans association they gave me addresses to writhe to.
But I'm sorry I don't have them anymore but maybe they do. Give it a try or
have your Canadian relation try for you. I was told that only the eldest of
the children may receive the medals if there are any, I was lucky and I have
Mom's Medals with me. Other wise it is straight forward just write to
Veterans Affaires Ottawa Canada and you should get some help with your
