Leam is a townland in the parish of Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland.
The Church of Ireland records have been microfilmed and are available
through a Family History Center near you. The Presbyterian records have
been microfilmed and can be viewed at the Public Records Offices of
Northern Ireland (PRONI) in Belfast. You will have to view them
personally or see if someone over there can do that for you.

An option that may be available is to obtain permission from the parish
priest of Enniskillen to purchase the microfilm. My experience has been
that the permission can be hard to obtain.

For further information on the holdings of the Public Records Office of
Northern Ireland can be found at:

I am looking for additional information on the James Thompson and Rose
Dorsay (or'Rose D'Orsey) described in this obituary. The couple was
married in 1839 place TBD and they ultimately settled in Normandale,
Charlotteville Township.

Obituary for James Thompson: The Late James Thompson

James Thomson, 87, died 19 Apr 1900 at his home near Normandale, Norfolk
County, Ontario.

On Saturday afternoon the mortal remains of Mr. James Thompson were
conveyed to their last resting place in the cemetery at Normandale,
after an impressive service conducted by the Rev. Mr. Robertson,
Presbyterian Minister, of Port Dover. Mr. Thompson had many friends and
many followed his remains to their last resting place. The pal-bearers
were his five sons and one grandson. He was born in the town land of
Leam, county of Fermanagh, Ireland, on October 15th, 1813, and was 87
years old at the time of his death. He left Ireland at 18 years of age
and landed in Quebec in 1835. He volunteered in the rebellion of 1836
under command of Captain Walter Anderson. In 1839 he married Miss Rosa
Dorsay and settled on lot 11, concession A of Charloteville, and has
lived on the same farm over fifty years.
