Hi

I found Francis (now Frank) Colbert in the 1901 census. He is still in W.

of the household is now a widower, living with him is son George,
daughter-in-law Harriet A., Bert Boyd a domestic and Frank Colbert b 12 July
1879, age 21 is listed as a lodger. Listed next is the family of James
Cunningham.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the compliment. I am flattered! I am glad you and everyone
enjoyed my Census time capsule?

I have concluded making the point I was trying to establish, pursuant to my
"Genealogy" posting 15/3/04. I am sure young Francis found is way in life,
just fine? As do we all...

Especially thanks to Listowner Lorine! For allowing me to establish my
points of view. They are of my opinion only! True or False, I do hope they
have generated some thought? The List appeared very quiet? So, I thought I'd
toss in some activity...

It is great to have a forum where genealogy can be expressed in a manner
that may promote such thought--and debated!

How else can humans educate themselves....

Mike - whoever and whereever you are ... In all my 37 years of researching
and teaching genealogy, you are certainly one of the most imaginative
writers that I have ever encountered ...

The scenarios that you have presented over the past couple of days have been
not only interesting, but indeed compelling reading, as no doubt some of our
ancestors must have gone through situations such as you have recreated. Your
writing style is quite easy.

Do you write professionally? Your talents could be used in helping to
re-write so much of our vibrant Canadian history that is waiting to be told
...

Lily, did you ever imagine that such an innocent posting about child
abandonment could have led us down this road ...

To this site's host - Lorine, thanks for making this all possible ... Truly
this is one list that I look forward to reading each and every day!

Should any one actually discover any more details about this Colbert case
please post the results for us all to read as a) from a genealogical
viewpoint it is interesting, and b) I would love to see what Mike could do
with the rest of the details... especially as if we could find Francis in
the 1891 and 1901census, perhaps even his death.

Cheers! [Drink some green beer on St. Patrick's Day!]
