Hello

You haven't told us when William James (or Susan) were born
- even an approximate year for each would be helpful.

Where were William and Susan born? That would also help
anyone on the list who is willing to check sources. For
instance I can search the census by first name, location of
birth, age, etc and try to find misspellings of the
surname, but I can't do it without more info from you.

I checked some of the ND census lists and found KNEESHAW,
so they do exist in that state.

Surname/ Given Name/ Age/ Sex/ Race/ Place of birth/ State/
County/Location/Year

KNEESHAW HARRY 37 M W CANA ND RAMSEY 1-WD DEVILS
LAKE 1910 Series: T624 Roll: 1146 Page: 215

There are many KNEESHAW in the census indexes for 1860,
1870, 1900, 1910, 1920 (but only the one in ND).

Have you found the family in 1880/81 census for Canada or
USA?

I see mention of the Kneeshaw name in online records for
Pembina, North Dakota -- W.J. Kneeshaw, Stanley Kneeshaw,

Start here http://mytown.koz.com/community/redriver and
click through, or search for KNEESHAW. Sources are given
for every mention of the names so you could also consult
those for the original records.

Also, the University of North Dakota has papers that
mention a WJ Kneeshaw

Also see the PEMBINA COUNTY PIONEER DAUGHTERS COLLECTION
INDEX at
http://www.und.edu/dept/library/Collections/og1210index.html

There's a history of Mrs. William Kneeshaw - Susan Randall
among others for this surname (Kneeshaw)

Harry Kneeshaw (prehaps of the 1910 census above?) can be
found mentioined in correspondence of Agnes Bishop Jardine
Papers, 1920-1926, 1933-1939 (Mss 20) Inventory at
http://www.lib.ndsu.nodak.edu/ndirs/collections/manuscripts/
women/Jardine/inventory.html

Also see the Pembina ND history on Rootsweb at

Did you try the Brantford Expositor (online) to search for
the family? Births, Marriages, Deaths Index for the
Brantford Expositor
(1852-1916 (weekly); 1917-1937 (daily;) 1960-1982 (daily);
1988-2001 (daily)

can be reached via
http://olivetreegenealogy.com/can/ont/ont_vsdeath.shtml

Look under BRANT CO

I did a search and found several entries, including one for
the death notice (obit) for Susan Randall Kneeshaw in 1925.
I would get this from the library (instructions are given
online as to how to order the full record), and see what
info is given. You may find the exact location where Susan
lived, whether she was a widow or not at the time of her
death, etc.
