Subject: [ONT] Mass cards for O'KEEFE
Date: Wed, 1 Oct 2003 06:53:33 -0400
I have about collection of mass cards for a couple, by the name of Patrick James O'KEEFE and his Mrs. (unnamed) O'KEEFE. If there is family who is interested in this collection, please let me know, as I am anxious to return these cards to their rightful home. There is only 1 date on any of these, and it is Mar. 14, 1927 on a Requiem High Mass for Patrick and requested by Mrs. M. A. ROSE and family, J. J. O'BRIEN is the Priest.
There are 9 different styles, suggesting multiple years of mass cards used by the church, with the names of friends and family on them.
There is a newspaper notice "card of thanks" and an obituary, however, no dates are on them.
Also, there are cards of sympathy from:
"Porcelain Department of C.G.E."; "Grafton and Co."; "Quaker Oats office staff"
This is the obituary:
"OBITUARY
PATRICK J. O'KEEFE.
The death occurred yesterday morning of Patrick J. O'Keefe, at the family residence, 283 Park Street North. Although the deceased had been in poor health for the past few months, his sudden death came as a great shock to the whole community.
His wife predeceased him about four and a half months ago. He leaves to mourn his loss three daughters: Mrs. B.J. CROUGH of Detroit, Lila and Marguerite at home, also one sister Miss Mary, of Whitby, and one brother, James of this city.
The funeral will take place from the family residence at 8:45 o'clock on Saturday morning to St. Peter's Cemetery."
Is this your family?
