Subject: [ONT] Adoption -- Where on EARTH do i start

i discovered today that a g-great aunt
of mine was adopted. That branch of the
family lived in Wellington County, but i
am given to understand that the adoption
took place in Toronto. (Since the eldest
daughter of the family lived in Toronto
& worked as a seamstress, i'm wondering
if the baby might be hers.)
There were four elder siblings, two
of whom never married and two of whom
stayed on the farm.
i look forward to any and all
advice. (The paternal line is from
Ayrshire, the maternal from Islay.)
