The advice when stuck looking for a name or a date, try a different
direction. I did, and thanks for the Atlas Project address! I am still
trying to find the elusive John Lachlan McQuarrie of Osprey, Grey East. He
is in the 1881 census (McQarrie) and the 1891 census for Osprey as a farmer.
His first child, or so recorded and found, is born in 1878. His wife is from
Feversham, right there in Grey East/Simcoe. All of his children were born in
Osprey up to 1891. It doesn't seem, on the surface, that he left the area.
How do I find him? His wife died in 1891, by 1887 one or both daughters are
in Orillia, one marries and stays in Singhampton for her lifetime, by 1901
the one son is with relatives in Duntroon.

What are suggestions for "new directions" with me sitting in California? I
am hitting the brick wall again.

Thanks, Bonnie
