I am looking for information on my gggrandfather John Lumley.
John was born 1/24/1817 in Antiqua, West Indies. I suspect that John's
father was Edward Lumley and his mother Catherine, but have no proof. I
also suspect Edward was an infantryman in the British army, that is why
he was in the West Indies. John eventually moved to North Augusta,
Ontario, Canada, where he married a Sarah Morrow, daughter of John
Morrow and Elizabeth "Eliza" Moss on 4/14/1847. John and Sarah had 3
children in Canada and then moved here to New York State, USA, about
1854. They had 9 more children here. I think it may be possible that
John had more family in Ontario, Canada, but I haven't found any so far.
Does anybody on the list have any info on the Lumley or Morrow family?
