Hi Debbie,

My first thought would be the village of "Bognor" in Sydenham Twp., Grey County.
I checked the online 1871 Ontario Census Index of Heads & Strays and found the
following:

REID , CHRISTIAN 69 SCOTLAND GREY NORTH Sydenham
REID , JAMES 26 ONTARIO GREY NORTH Sydenham
REID , GEORGE 58 SCOTLAND GREY NORTH Sydenham
REID , HUGH 46 SCOTLAND GREY NORTH Sydenham
REID , ROBERT 52 SCOTLAND GREY NORTH Sydenham
REID , DAVID 42 SCOTLAND GREY NORTH Sydenham
REID , WILLIAM 50 SCOTLAND GREY NORTH Sydenham

The 1865 Directory of the County of Grey shows the following in Sydenham
Township :

Name Con. Lot
Reid William 2 2
Reid David 2 2
Reid Robert 2 3
Reid George A 26
Reid Hugh C 40

I hope this proves helpful,

Cathy.
