Have you looked to see what the OGS is doing at this site:
http://www.ogs.on.ca/ogspi/welcome.htm

They have an ambitious program going where they are listing Births, Deaths,
Marriages, Census, Elections' Land, Obituaries, Ship Lists, War and
Military.

They are always looking for volunteers and submissions.
