Subject: [Ont] LONEYs in Toronto or anywhere in Canada

Hi Listers
(from a stunningly beautiful, sometimes sunny, Irish nearly-winter
day, overlooking Lough Bofin, near Oughterard, Co. Galway)
I am descended from the LONEY family, so far traced back to
Guernsey, from where some went to Toronto, Canada (in the late
1800's), some to England, and the black sheep of the family (my
branch) went to South Africa (abt. early 1920's or a few years
earlier). My grandfather was FRANK LONEY, nephew to the two
LONEYs who went to Toronto.
The LONEYS who emigrated to Toronto are :
JAMES EMMANUAL LONEY (1857 - 1942) who married LOUISA
CLEMENTS PARSONS
and
JOHN CHARLES LONEY (1860- 1945) who married FLORENCE
OLIVE KELLOGG
I have hit a brick wall and cannot get further back than
Geurnsey/Jersey, early 1800's - so, I'm hoping there are some
LONEY descendants out there in Canada with whom I can work to
go further back than our Captn. WILLIAM PETER
BARTHOLOMEW LONEY who married MARGARET (Marguerite)
Le PAGE.
I do hope there is someone out there who has bells ringing now!
Kind regards
Lynda Cookson
(South African now living in Ireland!)
