According to the online Books of Remembrance (linked to
from my Olive Tree pages at
http://olivetreegenealogy.com/mil/can/find.shtml ) your man
was Corporal (doesn't agree with the list of casualties I just
sent you which said he was a Private) Cuthbert Thomas of
the Royal Canadian Regiment.
This is more commonly referred to as the R.C.R. and they
are still an active unit today. I've forgotten where they are
stationed but some of them recently went to Bosnia for their
turn on the Peacekeeping tour.
You can use the Alta Vista search engines provided on my
pages to hunt for the RCR's webpage. They will have a unit
history that may offer information on your Cuthbert Thomas.
You'll likely have to write to their museum or history section
but you can find that with a bit of perseverance :-)
Have fun!
