Marilyn was enquiring about one of her ancestors who was
supposedly a W.L.MacKenzie supporter.

I certainly hope your Gilbert ancestor was not one of the party
that robbed my 4xGt G'father Overholt of $1000 when the
innocent man was simply sitting at home on his farm in Fonthill.
Presumably he and his wife were watching tv at the time their
peace was so rudely shattered.

The old boy in his 1840 will regrets that he couldn't leave more
to his children and mentions never having been compensated
for that loss and also over a thousand pounds when he was forced
to flee the US after the Revolution.
