Subject: [ONT] What Is The Most Long-Awaited Item??????
Date: Wed, 16 Aug 2000 21:07:58 -0400
To all:-
The subject line really does not need an answer -- it is the overdue
report of the Expert Panel, received by the Hon. John Manley, PC, MP,
on June 30th, 2000 -- we have yet to learn if he has read it.
Mr. Manley desires lots and lots of letters -- his office needs to be
re-papered -- so let's supply him with sufficient letters -- all
black on white!
Addresses:- Hon. John Manley - MP <>
Hon. John Manley - MP <>
Snail mail:-
The Hon. John Manley, PC, MP / Minister of Industry,
House of Commons, / Parliament Buildings, / Ottawa,ON K1A 0A6
[For those who do not know -- PC stands for Privy Counsel]
When you are typing an e-mail, please include your full address,
including e-mail address AND PRINT ONE COPY to be sent by mail --
FREE postage. Make certain the envelope is large enough -- even if
10 x 12 -- FREE!! By doing this, the envelope will not be overlooked!
One Member of Parliament PHONED me today (I prefer e-mails or letters)
and he will be meeting with Mr. Manley tomorrow. He asked me WHAT
researchers were hoping for on the census records for their research.
I told him what I wanted -- plain family facts -- and he agreed there
should be no problem with that. I will give an example:-
District --( Summerville Centre, Queens Co., Nova Scotia)
Family Name / Name of Person / Sex / Marital Status / Relationship
/D.O.B./Religion (for research)/Place of Birth/Origin/Occupation/
>From the above, I will learn my family name was FARQUHAR, grandfather
was William H. Farquhar / Male / Married / Head (of household)/Nov 7,
1853/ Anglican/Place of birth -- was Nova Scotia/Origin - Scottish /
Farmer & Fisherman
My grandmother (hopefully) would have her maiden name in brackets:
(Ford) Ida / Female / Married / Wife / Anglican / May1, 1862/Nova
Scotia /Origin is English / occupation is teacher
[Anglican was generally written as C. of E.]
Following this would be my Aunt Mabel, Uncle William, my father
Gordon, plus gr.grandmother Isabella (McIntosh)
What the 1911 census would not state is that two uncles, Cecil and
Roland died between the 1901 and 1911 census records.
Sincerely hope all agree with me!!
We do not need any financial listings -- compare the dollar value
today to that of 1911!!
Check: http://www.globalgenealogy.com/census/index6.htm
Check the standing of YOUR MP or copy him/her anyway.
Many have sent copies of letters being forwarded -- let's give Mr.
Manley bags of mail -- WE (VOTERS) want the Expert Panel report!!!!!
