Hi Elsa,
The census films are available on microfilm from the LDS family history
library and can be viewed at family history centers all over the US. You
could start with the 1901 census (1911 not available) for Niagara Falls,
Welland County and work your way backwards. It is an excellent idea to
search the census records yourself, because you will see who the neighbours
are, other relatives nearby that someone looking for you wouldn't
recognize, get a feel for the area -- what nationality people are, what
they do for a living, etc.
The family history library catalogue is available online:
http://www.familysearch.com/Search/searchcatalog.asp
Also be sure to visit the Ontario Genweb page, if you haven't already done so:
http://welcome.to/ontariogenweb
to learn about Ontario genealogy.
Hope this helps.
Jennifer, in Texas
