Your friend can search the online database for HOME CHILDREN
herself, and then write to the Home Children address for more
details on where her grandmother's brother was sent.

There were a half-dozen William CARTERs in the database. None
sailed with Ellen but why not check for yourself and see if it is
possible one is a match? Memories can play tricks and although
grandma may think she remembers a brother travelling with her, it
is possible he came ahead of, or after, her!

There was a Florence Carter on the same ship as the Ellen (above)
