Actually, this is an issue I have some moral dilemma about. However, I
would certainly not start listing former spouses as dead because I might
dislike divorce!

I do have another two problems, and would appreciate peoples views.

I have several cousins who are adopted. Some know, some dont. I want to
produce a full family tree, and I want it to be accurate. But for those
cousins who do not know that they are adopted, it could create some
difficulty.

The second is that my uncle recently discovered that he has a child that he
never knew about who is now in her mid 20s. He does not want this in the
family tree. I could leave it out, but this would disadvantage future
genealogists, and possibly even the womans descendants, one I register the
tree in various places.

The third dilemma is other kinds of relationships. The lifelong couple who
never had children and never married but enjoyed a deep and lasting love
together for life, for example. I also have an uncle who is gay. His best
friend, as they refer to each other, has been living with him for 30 years!
Family tree?

Comments would be most appreciated on any of these situations.
