Subject: [ONT] ROY Family History Finished
Date: Sat, 25 Dec 1999 22:33:44 -0500
To all book lovers:
The following was included as part of Armand F. Wigglesworth's column
in The Liverpool Advance, Dec 15, 1999 issue:
THREE YEAR PROJECT FINISHES
Tim MacDonald of Liverpool and Joe Whitby of Dartmouth, have just
completed a history of the ROY family. The genealogy includes most of
the South-West Port Mouton families -- nearly 9000 names in total. The
history traces families and other names such as: PEACH, DALBY, FARMER,
WHYNOT, BERRIMAN, SCHRADER, THORBOURNE, and many more.
Tim MacDonald has copies of this work.
A message from Joseph Whitby, Dartmouth <>
provided the missing information:
Price of the 297-page book is $30.00 Canadian PLUS Shipping Charges.
There is a good index, and it is cerolux bound.
To the more than 50 who wrote to ask me about WHY Joe and Tim
stated the book was finished, here is the answer:-
- When publishing a book, there comes a time when it has to go to
the printer -- and after three years, it was time to print.
[I know the above -- have published at least seven family histories,
but one is always updating -- often before the book is printed. That
is my 2000 goal -- updates of all books except Simeon Perkins Diary
A note of interest:
The first Christian Service in Acadia 1604 was held at South-West
Port Mouton -- the area founded 1603, one year before Port Royal.
