Something that might be helpful....

Back in the early 1900's (1905-1932, I believe), there was a Boston
Newspaper that used to do a supplement on genealogy. Folks would write
in their requests and be assigned a number, and other folks would reply
to that number (the information being duly printed in the paper) with
whatever offerings they had on the person(s) being searched...much like
how this list works today. For those searching for information on
ancestors that originally came from New England, it can be a useful
tool, and the State Library in Arizona has a complete set of these
microfiche. I have personally found it very useful, as often long
transcriptions of cemetary markers were given, as well as genealogies.

I don't know if this is a tool that would be readily available in
Canada, although it seems the LDS Family History Centers should have a
way to order it.

Anyway, the point of all this is that I do have access to it and am
willing to do a very limited amount of look-ups in it for anyone who
does not have a way to access it otherwise, starting NEXT year, 1999.
(I still have Ship's Lists to do this year!). So, if you've had a
reference to Boston Transcripts mouldering amongst your papers for
years, dig it out and e-mail me. I will take requests now, but please
don't expect any results until after the New Year.

AJ
