My ancestor cane to Haldimand township about 1841, but I have been
unable to locate on a ships list or to discover why they came. James
Brady and his wife Ellen Gallagher brought nine children; Peter, John,
Ann, Ellen, Terence, Farrell, Patrick, William, and John. I would think
that would have been expensive.

Family lore says they had a land grant; however I cannot find the
original record although I know the lot and concession numbers of much
of the property. These Brady's married into the following families:
McGuire, Campbell, Cunningham, Macklin, McManus, Fanning, Jones.

Any help appreciated on how they got there and how you received a land
grant.
