I read your question via the distribution list GEN-FR
about the BONNEVILLE families in France.

Have you no idea about your BONNEVILLE
ancestors in France, where and when ?

About knowing whether there is today some people
named BONNEVILLE, a possibility is to have
a look in our phone directory (since a few months,
also on the web).

In a separate e-mail, I send to you a note
where I explain how to use this mean.

The problem is that it's not because you
could find people named "BONNEVILLE" that
they are related with you. Probably, a
good part of them (if any) knows quite
nothing about his ancestors or will not
reply your mail if you write to them.

About knowing if some genealogists
are interested in the name BONNEVILLE,
I can suggest you to go and visit
several web sites which publish
"Family names lists"
as
- GENEANET
- KAROLUS
http://www.karolus.org
- other web sites

About Karolus, which is my preferred site,
(OK, it's mine/ours ! :-)
you'll find there some good help and articles
about genealogical research in France.

Some of these articles are english written.
Look also at the special american/british flag
at the top of the screen.

Thanks to make KAROLUS more known near your friends and
societies'members.

You can also get in touch with the Anglo-French FHS which gives
advice through its bulletin (address also in Karolus)
and high-quality booklets about genealogical research in France.

Best regards from France

Sorry for my bad english/american speaking.

Xavier

P.S. I really appreciate you signed your e-mail with your name,
city/state and country. Most of web surfers sign only with their
first name, it often gives no idea of the correspondant.
