Have you ever heard of the ancient art of dowsing?
Witching for water with a forked stick?
It was commonly said that a man undertaking to dig a well without
consulting a dowser was a fool......
Some of the tools for dowsing have evolved into
L-rods,pendulums,Y-rods,bobbers and auremeters.
I'm sure this was a common practice for some of the early pioneers.
