When I visited Ontario in 1986 to do research, the staff at the Iroquois
City Hall directed me to an elderly gentleman who had worked on the Seaway
and at that time lived in Morrisburg. One of his duties had been to
photgraph all the houses that were going to be in the 'flooded' area. He had
all this information stored in his basement. I urged him to donate it all to
one of the local history organization and told some local people about these
papers. Does anyone know what happened to these papers?

Perhaps the St. Lawrence Seaway Commission has some papers? The staff at
Iroquois city Hall did have an old pre-Seaway map showing all the street and
the original shoreline plus some old registers where I found my great
grandmother's death 1907 recorded.

Good luck in your searching.
