Question for Duncan, then , in *this* case :
If it was in 1913, not 1931, it would fit with what I said - that is,
before confirmation, which is the general rule.
If it was in 1931, and the marriage with Mathilda Cadieux was in 1918,
why would he wait so long (14 years) after the marriage before professing
faith?
BTW, I too, have personal frame of reference - my two oldest daughters
did their "profession de foi", when 12 years old, one in 1997 and the other
in 1999.
I agree that a change of religion as an adult would modify the dates
and ages from the *normal* contexte, but I don't think this is the case
here.

Hi Joyce:
I don't agree with Tom.
As one who has indexed many parish registers in
Glengarry & Stormont Counties I can tell you that
a "major" son or daughter, if of another faith, and
planning to marry into the Catholic Faith, would have
an entry in which it would be written;
"And recieved her/his Profession of Faith,,,,,and Baptized
into the R.C.Church"
[the party was a Convert to that Religion.]
