Look in Thomas and Green, "Early Churches of Culpeper County, Virginia:
Colonial and Ante-bellum Congregations" published by the Culpeper
Historical Society in Culpeper. Chapter 5 is entitled "History of
Hedgman's River/Jeffersonton Baptist Church 1773-1986". According to
this, the church began in the Hedgman's Quarter of Fauquier County at
Kelly's Ford. A later meeting house was located at Lakota commencing in
1790.
