A page in an ancestor's Bible is big news. This link will show my connection to the family. http://thomas.okelley.org/d213.htm#P213
It is based upon the belief that Thomas was the Ancester and then
Charles ->
Charles Dean ->
James Stamps ->
Charles William -> (my family liked the name Charles)
Albert Henry ->
Conley Horton->
Rickie Dale O'Kelley (me)
The family tradition is Thomas was born in Ireland in 1725 and came to Virgina after birth and before he married. I suspect most of this came from the book Harold O'Kelley published as in the 60s all my aunts and uncles had a copy and I seem to remember reading it.
I am also followup on a family in Yarmouth, Barnstable, Mass that had a Thomas O'Kelly born to that family in 1725. http://www.genealogyofnewengland.com/f_55.htm#131
Over the years I have learned many of the family traditions have turned out to be false so I don't hold that the telling that Thomas was my ancestor and he came from Ireland to be based in fact. This one interests me as well because I have not been able to find an decendents for the that Thomas.
