I've been searching for my ggrandmother's grave for sometime w/o success. She was married to Robert Allen Rainwater, b1861, d1953, buried w/ his 2nd wife Melissa in Stroud Cemetery, OK. Some records indicate Kate was buried in Stroud too, but cemetery records and personal search says no. She died in 1898 in OK. 1880 Census has her and Robert in Lee Creek Township, Crawford Co., AR. One family source, Cecil Sharp, son of Cozetta, daughter of Oscar Allen Rainwater, states she was killed in 1899 by her husband, Robert Allen. According to Cecil He horse whipped her to death in front of their children and held off legal authorities for several hours. States that he learned from his mother, Cozetta, who was told by the mother-in-law of John Rainwater. Others have her death at child birth. Unable to confirm either. My main concern is her burial location. Any info would be appreciated. John Rainwater
