My wood county families are:

Ancestors of Mary Catherine Bortel, born in mid 1800's who married my Great-grandfather, Enoch Gruber.

Information on Gruber family, starting with Peter Gruber, his sons, William, Enoch and Henry and daughter Eliz. The were early residents of Gilliad, now Grand Rapids, Ohio. They came from Manheim, Pennsylvania. At some point Enoch moved to Henry County and William's famiy to what is now Lucas County, formerly part of Wood County.

Box family, now in Wood and Lucas Counties. My great-grandfather was William Box. His first wife, Mary Ellen Keegan, died young and left him with five children; John Jacob, William Franklin, Mary Catherine, Lizzie Elizabeth, and Joseph Alford. his second wife, Fiana Lahr Jones was a widow with several children. William and Fiana had seven children: Pearl Mae, Maude Belle (twins), Myrta, Clara Fern , Fred C., William Lloyd, and Louis Edward. I have qute a bit of information on this family but enjoy meeting new cousins and learning about their branches of this very large family.

Shepler family: My grandfather, George Washington Shepler married Maude Belle Box, daughter of William Box. They moved between Wood and Lucas counties. I can trace the Sheplers back to the Revolution, but for George and Maude I have only memories. I am curious about their lives and adventures.

Marilyn (Shepler) Simpson, Waterville, Lucas County, Ohio
