The Jackson County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will hold its
monthly chapter meeting on Saturday, November 12th at the Jackson City
Library (in the Potter Room) at 10:30 a.m. There will be a short business
meeting and then we will go into our monthly program at approximately 11:30
a.m. The program for this month will be provided by James Oiler of the Sons
of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Commander of the Cadot-blessing Camp
#126 of Gallia County. James will be speaking on the formation of the GAR
after the war and subsequent formation of the Sons of Union Veterans of the
Civil War. He will also touch on some lesser known facts about the states
that seceded and eventually readmitted to the Union. All members and public
invited, bring a friend.
