Can someone tell me how to obtain a copy of the adoption papers of my
father who is deceased as are his birth mother and the adoptive parents.
A relative (not a direct descendant) has a copy of the adoption papers, and
of course for genealogical documentation purposes, I very much want a copy
of the papers also.

What I know is the name of the adoptee, name of the birth mother, names of
the adoptive parents, the place of adoption (Lawrence Co.), the dob, the
date of adoption, a No. from the adoption papers, as well as a Doc. number
and page number from the adoption papers. What I don't know is how to
obtain a copy - where do I write - who do I contact?

Incidentally - I did post a similar question several months ago, but did
not have as much detailed info at that time. Someone did check the
microfilm of a Children's Home - my father is not listed there. I believe
he went directly from his birth mother to the adoptive parents.
