Linda, Thanks for your reply. No, I do not have the month for the death
of CENIA JACKSON BAILEY in l884. 1884 was the only date given in her
husband's pension application.

Yes, I know Warren Hauck We are "kin" through our RAY ancestry. He asked
for info on descendants in my line.ad this is where he got the
JACKSON-BAILEY info
As a matter of fact, there are MANY Lemuel Bailey's, but this hasn't
helped me find his parents. I was told that this BAILEY line always
seemed to name children after uncles, and there was always an Uncle
Lemuel around!

One clue that I have tried to follow , without success, is this. On
Lemuel's pension application, one of the people who wrote as a witness
to Lemuel's injuries was HARRISON COMBS of Lawrence Co. Ohio. Lemuel
stated that HARRISON COMBS was his nephew. I know that none of Cenia
Jackson"s (Lemuel's wife) married a COMBS So HARRISON COMBS must be the
son of the sister of LEMUEL BAILEY. I have further found out that the
father of HARRISON COMBS was JOHN COMBS JOHN COMBS served in the Civil
War with Lemuel and both families lived in Wayne Co. VA/WV before they
moved to Lawrence Co. Ohio.

Seems as if I have found a lot of info but nothing to help me with
parents of Lemuel M. Bailey. I have Cenia Jackson's parents. Her
father, ELIJAH JACKSON, was a veteran of the War of 1812..

I believe I have exhausted all sources on this family at the Briggs
library. If you have any ideas for furthering this search, let me know. I
see you have HALL as one of your families. I descend from TERESSA HALL,
b l850, d/o JOHN & iSABELLA (WORTHINGTON) HALL of Westmoreland Co PA
The family came to Greenup Co. KY,in 1850; later in Carter Co KY
.TERESSA HALL married WM. EDW. JAMES and they moved to Jackson Co.
Ohio.Any connection? Thanks for your help.

Best regards,
Helen
