In doing my research, I find many of my ancestors and other early pioneers
migrated from Washington County, PA into Richland, Co. Ohio. Which route
would they have went? This would have been about 1790-1810?
Also would like to know if they would have traveled down to Wheeling,WV and
came across there?
Also according to the map, I see Cross Creek, PA, looks to be not more than
30 miles or so from Wheeling, WV. Would this area been hard to travel
through or would they have gone around some other way to WV?
Some of my family, after they got to WV, went to Coshocton County, Ohio,
then to Knox etc. Would these people have likely came from NJ to PA, and
then WV and into the Ohio River Valley into what we now know as Ohio?
Hope this is not too elementary a question, but sure would like to know how
they would have traveled.
