Subject: DEATH CERT
Date: Mon, 15 Jun 1998 11:09:42 -0700
Hi! I have been unable to locate a death certificate for my gg grandfather
Benniah Helterbrake.
I really need to find out who his father was.
Anybody got any ideas?
I have a newspaper article from the Perrysburg Messenger Apr. 2, 1857.
FATAL ACCIDENT: On Tuesday evening last, while Benjamin [Benniah]
Helterbrake, a citizen of this place, was cutting a tree in the woods west
of town, a falling limb struck him on the forehead, causing instant death.
Mr. H. was an industrious, honest man. He leaves a wife and three children
in destitute circumstances. A subscription is being circulated for their
benefit.
Toledo Blade Obit Record Index 1837-1969
Heltebrake, Benjamin - Perrysburg, OH - dod 3-31-1857 - newspaper 4-3-1857
no age given
But, no other records for Benniah have been found:
No marriage records, death records, census records.
Have checked:
Probate Death Records Vol. 1. 1867-1887
Probate Death Records Vol II 1888-1901
Thanks,
Carol Heltebrake-Gammel
