Subject: Revised Amendment to current Elections Guideline
Date: Thu, 11 Aug 2005 12:25:07 -0700
SC Sandra has pointed out something lacking in our current Elections
Guideline and the proposed Amendment...when and how the original Guideline
was established. So, I have added that to the proposed Amendment.
CURRENTLY:
"Resolution: OHGenWeb elections shall be held at least 10 days from date of
notice posted on the OHGenWeb list. Anyone who is a OHGenWeb County
Coordinator, designated volunteer or holds an "other position" (such as
Assistant County Coordinator, State Project Coordinator, etc.) in Ohio and
who is also subscribed to the OHGW list by 11:59 PM ET on the day the
ballots are distributed is eligible to participate. No more than one vote
per person even if involved with more than one county, or project."
And here are the revised compiled suggestions from the CCs for the
amendment, so far...
PROPOSED AMENDMENT:
"Amendment (passed _____): The original Resolution was put to a vote on
April 13 1998, and passed on April 28 1998. Nominations and debate of
candidates for State Coordinator Scheduled Elections shall be from April 15
to April 30; voting shall take place from May 1 to May 10; no more than one
vote per County or Special Project; results shall be posted to the OHGen
list by May 15. Elected SCs shall be ready to assume their duties within 48
hours of the announcement of election results."
Any more comments? Does anyone see a need to have a committee re-devise
what the CCs have already done? If no on both counts...Ms SC, may we please
put this to a vote so that we can move one and get things done?
Daryl
