Birth records for Clermont were recorded first in 1856 and stopped in 1857.
They began again in 1867 and continued thereafter but were spotty and not
"required" to be recorded until 1908. Cemetery records, tombstone dates,
Bible records, marriage records, census, Histories etc. have to suffice for
dates when there is no birth record.

Amos Hickson Gray
This elusive g-g-grandparent seems to of had no begining.
He was born in Clermont Co. Ohio Feb. 2 ,1828
Is there any one that lives there that could check birth records ?
I can't seem to get any results living out here in Oregon.
I've been told there is no "Birth Certificate" .
He married Juliann E. Hick in IN and died in IA
Any suggestions would be appriciated , Thank you .
