Subject: Lost Baptist church[es] Clermont-BROWN Co line
Date: Mon, 8 Feb 1999 10:13:39 -0500
I have found 1 LOST [INDIAN CREEK BAPTIST RT 222 and North fork,Indian
Creek 1806 6 miles sw BETHEL OH] and I'm hunting a 2nd early Baptist
church from north of Bethel on RT 133 TO East of BETHEL,on RT 125,JUST IN
BROWN CO-BAPTIST CHURCH.early.
It may simply be that the Methodist church on RT 133 N BETHEL 3-4
miles,and called CLOVER METHODIST,was once a "union church".Shadrack
TRIBBLE,and Absalom Brooks, who lived just west of CLOVER Methodist, were
among the Baptist ministers of the church I seek. Rev Dr DAVID
LOOFBORROUGH,lastly from GREAT BETHEL BAPTIST ,S UNIONTOWN,Pa ministered
it ,1802-07,marrying some of the Yankeetown,Oh people. David Smith
ministered both Indian Creek Baptist,AND THIS LOST CHURCH ON CLOVER
CREEK. He m n Bethel's JOHN BROOKS, TO E BETHEL'S NANCY CURLESS,1826.
Likely Rev Moses FRAZEE,and REV GERRARD RILEY ministered 1807-15 era. It
was "not" the POPLAR FORK Baptist at WIGGINSVILLE, RT 133 S BETHEL. .1818
ERA,this church,on Clover Creek,was asked by the very anti-Baptist
Baptist church,"in" Bethel,to join it. GOSHEN was either it's name,or an
earlier name for CLOVER. location? near CLOVER Creek, very se
Williamsburg township-se TATE township,Clermont co. Or perhaps Yankeetown
very w Clark twnsp,to sw Pike TOWNSHIP, BROWN CO OH.
I have clues that there was an early DUNKARD meeting at Henry moyers, sw
PIKE TOWNSHIP, -NOW LOCUST RIDGE NURSING HOME,MEEKER RD. And ,that like
other DUNKARD meetings,it became Church of Christ, and their is the
cemetary,in the woods, behind the nursing home. I'm looking for a
possible cemetary for the BAPTIST church on CLOVER CREEK,
