Hello,
I am looking for information on the family of William SMITH
(b.1807 OH, d.3 Aug 1886 Belmont Co., OH) and his wife Hannah
(b.abt 1812 OH). I have found them in the 1860 and 1870
Belmont Co. census. Their son William Rea SMITH b.3 Mar 1848
Morristown, Belmont Co., OH d.4 Jul 1927 McPherson Co., KS)
married Margaret Jane DOTY (b.1 Jan 1857 OH d.7 Jan 1917
McPherson Co., KS). Margret DOTY was living with the SMTIHS as
a domestic servant in the 1870 Census. William R. and Margaret
left for Kansas in 1878. There was something that happened that
they had to leave Ohio. My grandmother said they had possibly
each been married before. Is there any way to check this out?
It seems more likely, that if she was living in the house, then
they 'had' to get married.
I am looking for ANY information on Hannah and the parents of
William SMITH Sr. and the parents of Margaret DOTY and marriage
dates for either couple. Thank you.
