I was very distressed to hear that you were tearing down this building where
all these records are housed. I was so looking forward to my annual trip
back there to spend 3 weeks researching through records unavailable to me
before. I had inquired about them last year and had been told that I would have
to make an appointment with your department to let me in, but when so many
great people started working on them I was thrilled and had hoped to help them
part of the time on this trip. I have so many big problems in my family back
there with the fires, etc around the area and where my people went after
leaving the area that I just can't imagine losing such a valuable site.

I believe the idea of closing off the upper floor and keeping the lower
floor makes a lot of sense. Taking them back into St. Clairsville doesn't make
sense as I always have a terrible time finding parking there when using either
the library or the court house facilities.

Please reconsider your decision and think of the numbers of researchers like
me who come to your county every year or even occasionally to do research.
Genealogy is a hobby shared by about 90 per cent of the population right now
and I am sure the area can use our business when we stay in your motels, buy
your gas and eat at your restaurants. Please, please think this over more
carefully.
